My general approach is primarily to listen to the person's story and put their symptoms in the context of their whole life. After this detailed assesment I give my diagnostic opinion and recommend a treatment package including therapy and medication. I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) myself and also prescribe medication where appropriate. If other therapy is indicated I refer people to a therapist in Central London or to the Priory Hospital Roehampton.
